Discovery Of Sedona

In early twentieth century , that is , in 1901,Theodore Schnebly from Missouri , journeyed westwards and settled at an altitude of 4500 feet in a place full of red rock mountains. Later when this beautiful place was permitted to have a post office of its own, Theodore applied for the name, “SEDONA” after his wife Sedona Schnebly, which was granted. And it was only in 1988; Sedona was incorporated as a city. Sedona in Arizona could be approached by US highway 89A or Highway179. US highway 89A, via Oak Creek Canyon is a scenic highway offering motorist a memorable drive with its numerous bends.
